Frequently Asked Questions:

Where do downtown tours start and end?
We meet on the outside steps of the Vernon Museum and Archives 3009 32nd Ave, Vernon, BC V1T 2L8. The tour will end either at the museum steps or within one block of the museum.

Who should attend the tours?
Tours are intended for audiences of all ages, though we encourage anyone under 10 to join us in our Family Friendly Tours (coming soon), as some of the stories and topics can be a little scary for younger audiences.

How long are the tours?
Downtown tours are between 1.5 and 2 hours long. Family Friendly and School Tours are 1 to 1.5 hours long. O'Keefe Ranch Tours are 1.5 to 2 hours long. Private tours can be tailored to as short as 45 minutes long and as long as 2 hours.

Are there washrooms or breaks on the tour?
There are no washroom breaks on the downtown tour so please use the facilities before you come. We remain outside exclusively on the tour. O'Keefe Ranch Tours have washrooms on site open to guests.

Can I take pictures/videos on the tour?
Feel free to take all the pictures/videos you'd like of yourselves and/or your tour host (and tag us on socials if you're so inclined!) but please secure permission from fellow guests if you can include them in your photography or videos.

Are tours ever canceled due to weather?
Unless there is a natural disaster occurring, such as a wildfire, we do not cancel tours. Come dressed for the weather, rain or shine.

Do I have to book tickets in advance?
Currently, all downtown tours do not have an advanced ticket purchase options. So show up with your cash and you're ready to go! O'Keefe tours, Private and School Tours along with special events all require advanced ticket purchase. For more information on booking these tours, contact us.

Are tours accessible for individuals with low mobility?
All tours are "walking" tours, however we work hard to ensure accessibility for all patrons. Downtown tours follow sidewalks and maintained roads that wheelchairs, scooters, and walkers can manoeuvre. Unfortunately due to the heritage of the homes at the ranch, the O'Keefe Ranch tours are less accessible within the buildings for those with mobility issues.  Please contact us to find out how we can accommodate your needs in our tours.
